Cocoa

Cocoa is one of the potential Indonesian plantation products and is one of the export commodities. Sulawesi is the largest cocoa producing region in Indonesia with a share of 45% of the total national cocoa production. South Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi are the provinces with the highest cocoa production levels. Cocoa planted area in South Sulawesi will reach 195,000 ha in 2020 with an average production of 700kg per ha. In South Sulawesi, cocoa is the second largest export commodity after nickel. The quality of cocoa produced by South Sulawesi is recognized as one of the best cocoa in the world.
