Coconut is a plant that all of its parts can be used. Coconut only grows in the tropics, so South Sulawesi has the potential to become a major coconut producer. Kepulauan Selayar Regency is one of the coconut centers in South Sulawesi. In 2020, the planted area of coconut in Kepulauan Selayar Regency reaches 19,511 ha with a productivity level of 15 tons/ha. Coconut can be processed into various derivative products such as virgin coconut oil, coconut charcoal briquettes, planting media, coco peat and so on. With this potential, the coconut industry is one of the attractive sectors for investment.
