Coffee

Coffee is one of the leading export commodities in South Sulawesi Province with a total production of 25,858 tons in 2021. With this amount, South Sulawesi is the largest coffee-producing area in eastern Indonesia. This is strongly supported by the development conditions, geographical location and climate of the region. Coffee production in South Sulawesi comes from Enrekang, Tana Toraja Regency, and North Toraja Regency. Toraja Arabica coffee is the best type of coffee from South Sulawesi. Currently, South Sulawesi is a supplier of Toraja Arabica coffee for Japan with an export volume of 296.4 tons in 2020.

However, apart from Toraja Arabica coffee, there are still various other types of coffee that are also potential to be South Sulawesi's leading commodities, including Kalosi Enrekang coffee and Rumbia Jeneponto coffee. Not only processed into green beans and powder, the potential for organic coffee development is also very open in South Sulawesi.
