Municipal Water Supply System

Municipal Water Supply System

Parepare City Government initiated a Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) project based in safe drinking water directly from the tap as a sustainable solution in answering environmental challenges, increasing the health of the local people, and repairing public service efficiency.

This project is driven by the high dependency of people towards bottled drinking water which contributes to the increase of plastic waste and put burden on urban environment management.

Through this project, Parepare City Government is committed to provide drinking water access that is safe, clean, and sustainable for households, public facilities, educational institutions, and offices. This SPAM also aimed to strengthen local economic competitiveness, reducing dependency on bottled drinking water, and emphasizing the role of Parepare as the strategic gateway city in South Sulawesi.
